I am pretty sure you clicked this article because there’s a part of you that wants you to up your game but doesn’t know how to. It’s okay bestie, I got you! Your girl craves academic validation. Well, thanks to that she always googles and does little experiments to find out ways to make studying fun and effective.
So, here I am dedicating this small article to anyone who feels so demotivated and drained to study, even though they really want to get their shit together but just can’t focus to do so.
Take a couple of minutes and go through the following easy tips (that I also found helpful to get straight A’s for my exams) to increase your productivity to help you get the best results in your exams.
Use the hours you feel most energetic to do your work
Just like each of your friends has a unique way of note writing, every person may study better at a different time during the day. To be honest, there’s no best time of the day to study cause it all depends on our biological clock. For instance, if you’re an early riser; you may enjoy studying during the early hours of the day because your energy tends to fade quickly in the late evening hours. On the other hand, if you’re a night owl, you may feel productive staying up late and studying for your exams. So, it is important to understand what time suits you the best to study.
And remember, it is possible to change your biological clock. If you feel like it’s better to study in the morning even though you are a night owl- try to change your sleeping schedule!
Develop a simple routine to get your work done
Have you ever felt anxious thinking about where to start all your studies cause there’s a lot of work that needs to be done? Organizing our work is essential when trying to study. Here’s why; according to a study conducted by professors Baumeister and Masicampo, making a simple plan to get done our work can free us from anxiety. After creating a little to-do list, make it a routine. Trust me, our brain loves to-do lists!
Surround yourself with inspo – make a manifestation corner
I learned this during my cognitive psychology class. Your brain constantly takes notes of the things around you cause the brain is basically a manifestation machine. So, here is your sign to make manifestation corner! Create a vision board including all your goals and things you would like to manifest. A Vision board will motivate you to stay on the right track.
Reward yourself after achieving your goals – big or small
Don’t overwhelm yourself with hundreds of goals. Focus on a single goal each time and if possible, break it down into sub/ smaller goals. After achieving a goal, small or big, reward yourself. It could be your favorite slice of cake, a cup of coffee, or whatever is within your reach. Make sure to reward yourself, so you can do more!
Don’t overthink. Don’t be stressed, Do your best
If you’re feeling mad confused, hopeless, drained, or whatever feeling you are feeling right now is completely normal. You are still learning new ways to study effectively and it often comes with immense experience. Don’t stress your mind over the things you can’t control yet. Just breathe. Being relaxed is important to studying effectively. Do your best and I am sure you will do great. Believe in yourself cause you have so much potential in you to do great things!
p.s. good luck loves xx you’ve got this!
