When you hear the word “green flag” chances are high that you automatically think of relationships. Everyone says to look for “green flags” and “red flags” when you’re entering into a relationship with someone, right? But do you know there can be “green flags” within yourself?

Green flags are unconscious or conscious positive traits, actions either within yourself or someone else.

It is so important to understand the green flags within yourself so that you’ll be able to identify your own strengths and weaknesses to achieve your goals in life. Not only that, understanding your own green flags will help you to have good mental and physical health.

Growth mindset

“Believing in your ability to learn” is basically what a growth mindset is about. If you have a growth mindset, you’re more likely to;

  • View failure as a significant learning experience to move forward
  • Set realistic goals to achieve success
  • Love to celebrate your small and big achievements
  • Love to learn new things
  • Aware of your weaknesses and ready to change them for your betterment

It is absolutely possible to develop a growth mindset within yourself. It will take some time, but you can develop this green flag if you put your mind to it.

You can be yourself around others

It’s important to be yourself. If you feel comfortable around others while being you, it is a really positive sign that you are comfortable with just being you.

However, if you still feel uncomfortable around others for being you; give yourself some time to get over your insecurities which holding you back from being yourself around others. Changing is possible!

You can set healthy boundaries

It is a green flag if you have learned how to set healthy boundaries. Having healthy boundaries means you don’t let anyone take advantage of you or make you feel miserable if you stand up for yourself. You’ve got the power as you should!

Self-awareness/ listening your needs, thoughts, feelings

Being self-aware can make you feel at peace! Having a good self-awareness means you are capable of monitoring how your subconscious or conscious energy/ thoughts/ needs and everything related to you evolves. If you’re self-aware, you are more attentive to your needs.

Basically, if you’re self-aware “you’ll give yourself an ice cream not a cake or any other thing because you know you want an ice cream, not cake”.

Constantly seeking validation from others can indirectly damage your mental health and the relationships you have with others. That’s why self-validation becomes a huge green flag within yourself. Imagine all the hype that you can give to yourself. Yes, self-validation truly helps you to become the best version of yourself. When you know how to self-validate, you give yourself all the power to make yourself happy.
