Every human being wants to be ‘happy’ and needs ‘happiness’ in their life, PERIODT. I know I know, some might say they don’t want to be happy blah blah, but I truly believe even the people who think like need happiness but they are just in denial, most probably because of some unimportant person or a situation made them feel like they don’t deserve happiness or they still don’t know what happiness is and how it feels like.
I’m sorry, but I just needed to say that before we get into this. Because it is important to know what blocks you from reaching happiness. But you are lucky cause happiness is something you can simply achieve no matter what mental state you’re in right now.
Happiness is a choice and a very big strength. And I am pretty sure, you started to read this article with the hope of becoming a happy human. Trust, me you don’t have to have a reason for that…anyways remember, “every human deserves to be happy”.
Following are some simple tips you can follow to be happy. The more your practice these, the happier your life will be. (source: trust me bro)
Things You Can Do To Make Yourself And Your Life Happier!
- Don’t be afraid to say ‘NO’
“People try to do all sorts of clever and difficult things to improve their life instead of doing the simplest, easiest thing- refusing to participate in activities that make life bad”- Leo Tolstoy
- Say what you mean
Be direct, starting today. Say what you mean and say it with your chest. Miscommunication can kill your mood and it also can ruin the connections you have with others. Good mood and good connections lead to happiness!
- Take breaks when you feel like you need to
There will be times when you get distracted when doubt creeps in when things get unclear. At times like that, you may feel really unhappy with yourself. So, when that happens, remind yourself it’s normal to feel that way and learn to take breaks when you need to. Sometimes you just need to step back from everything so that you can gain clarity and insight to move forward.
- Stay away from any kind of toxic relationships
Stay away from toxic relationships and friendships. Energy is contagious, so protect your vibe besties!
- Set clear boundaries
Don’t let other people step on you or tell you what you need to do. You’re the main character of YOUR story. Act like that.
- Stay away from gossip and drama
Surround yourself with positive people. Stay away from drama, gossip, and hypocrites (Trust me, you don’t need that bad energy around you). No arguments, No fights. Simply distance yourself. Look for positivity in everything you see and do.
- Prioritize yourself
Everything will be better if you focus on yourself. Take care of your needs, take care of your body, take care of your mind, let go of anything that disturbs your inner peace. Fall in love with taking care of yourself. Love yourself, then you will be happier!
- Practice gratitude
Reminding you to practice gratitude as you move forward with your life. Sometimes you have to look at your life and realize that where you are right now is enough – remember that and enjoy it. Enjoying your life right now is how you become truly happy and elevate it even higher.
As I’ve mentioned before, happiness is a choice. If you want to be happy, put YOURSELF FIRST. Only do things you love. Stay away from negative energy and people. Surround yourself with positivity and love.
